Winter is starting to meld into spring, and with that your beauty cabinet might shift a product or two to accommodate the warmer and brighter weather. Regardless if you’re looking to spice up your makeup bag for spring or just browsing, this guide of my timeless beauty products is up your alley. I also made sure to keep these affordable and available in common locations.

Nivea Soft Moisturizing Crème

The way I found Nivea was pretty interesting- I was studying abroad in Paris two years ago and was looking for moisturizer, so I grabbed it off the shelf in an Intermache because it was a familiar name. Two years later, it’s the only moisturizer I will use. I typically dislike moisturizers that are heavy, greasy and thick, so I really like Nivea’s light and airy feel. I always use it before applying makeup, after skincare, or after showering. It’s inexpensive, smells lovely, and will be a quick staple for you just like it was for me!

r.e.m beauty Sweetener Foundation

Foundation has always been a tricky part of my makeup because I am really big on getting a perfect-as-possible shade match that goes with my undertone. So when r.e.m. beauty launched their Sweetener foundation line with over 60 shades, I decided to give it a chance. I got shade matched at Ulta and went home with a unique capsule shaped bottle, not sure what to expect. To my delight, it was a great, full coverage foundation that made my skin look flawless. I literally need one pump and it’s enough for my whole face. The formula was very even, light, and easy to apply. I save it for special occasions to make it last because I want to make it last!

NYX Color Correcting Palette

If you’re anyone like me and struggle with eye bags and/or dark circles, Nyx’s color corrector palette might be your answer. It has six shades to neutralize discoloration and dark circles, and can even be mixed to create your perfect custom shade. I like to apply the red, then green, then mix the two skin tone shades and apply that over the top and blend it out. I’ve gotten comments that it looks like I don’t even have eye bags anymore. I often find that normal concealers don’t really cut it for me, but this palette has been a major game changer.

Naturium Purple Ginseng Cleansing Balm

There’s no better feeling than taking off your makeup at the end of a long day, and Naturium’s cleansing balm can get the ball rolling for that. A modest scoop out of the pretty lavender jar can remove significant amounts of makeup from your face, followed by a gentle cleanser. My only gripe with it is how there’s some ‘fake’ packaging, with the jar a whole half inch larger than the actual container.

Fenty Beauty Hella Thicc Volumizing Mascara

I might be a little biased towards this because I received a free mini Fenty mascara from a Her Campus table. That tabling visit convinced me to join, and here I am today! The mascara itself has a fantastic tapered wand that really volumizes and exaggerates your lashes with each application. I like to pair it with my Clinique mascara (another product I can get behind!) because Clinique provides that stable base and Fenty adds the extra mile. Bonus: it has a cute little pop when you unscrew the wand.
